ABOUT THE JBF

The Junior Baseball Federation of Philadelphia helps advance personal and communal growth opportunities through direct support of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) conducted baseball and softball activities. Through a partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies, the JBF provides opportunities and resources that promote each participant’s athletic, social, and physical well-being.

The JBF has been able to carry out its mission through the generosity of individuals and organizations. Youth programs around the City have benefited most significantly from proceeds realized from the annual JBF Benefit Baseball game.

The JBF develops the resources needed to provide program support primarily through the sale of ticket vouchers that are redeemable for one of five regular season Phillies games at Citizens Bank Park. By either purchasing vouchers for personal use or donating vouchers for use by PPR camp programs, you will provide City kids with the excitement of attending a Major League Baseball game as well as making our kids feel like “big-leaguers” at their own local ballfields.

VISION

We envision youth throughout the City of Philadelphia unconditionally engaged in accessible and high-quality baseball and softball programs that intentionally promote each participant’s athletic, social,
and physical well-being.

MISSION

We advance personal and communal growth opportunities through direct support of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation conducted baseball and softball activities.  The Junior Baseball Federation provides this support without regard to participants’ race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, religion or religious creed, gender, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law.

We develop the necessary resources for such purposes through a collaborative partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Department as well as through philanthropic donations and individual contributions.

GOALS

Provide opportunities and resources that promote the ageless shared experiences related to attending a professional baseball game, America’s game, in a major league ballpark.

Promote access for Philadelphia’s youth to the personal and communal benefits related to participation in structured baseball and/or softball activities at neighborhood municipal recreation facilities through the provision of financial and material support to these activities.

Advance the Phillies MLB Urban Youth Academy’s goals of developing the athletic, academic and career-readiness skills of UYA participants.

Develop the financial resources necessary to the achievement of the aforementioned activities through the conduct of an annual Benefit Baseball game through a partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies.
